As a single mom of 4 kids, It is a special occasion if and when I spend money on myself. I literally just went shopping on my 32nd birthday only to come home with gifts for everyone but myself! In those rare instances, I like to invest in pieces that are not only fashionable, but also those that I NEED. One of my goals for 2017 was to be more intentional with my purchases, for both myself and the kids. Ever since I started my health journey earlier this year, I wear my Fitbit around the clock. I got used to glancing at my wrist instead of my phone for time and I have been on the hunt for a new watch. I needed something more stylish yet functional, and of course affordable. The Lynngrove by Skechers met all of my needs, and then some.
I adore the modern white color because it goes with everything. It still goes with my mom uniform of leggings and tees, but also can be worn when I dressed it up a bit! It's stylish with the shiny chrome bezel, but functional with the silicone strap and water resistant finishing because let's be real–I'm washing my hands, my kids hands, and/or dishes throughout the day... and putting it on and taking it off is a non factor with this beauty! Can we say score!? If you are looking to treat yourself, or a loved one with something special but functional for Mother's Day, that is also within your budget, make sure to check out Skechers for the perfect watch, and they have so many!
If you've been following along on our journey, you know I am pretty transparent. Both with the business, and my personal life. This Mother's Day will be special for me yet so different than the past 5 years. It was 5 years ago when I first became a step mother to my eldest boys Dominick and Dylan, and then a year later a mother to my twins, Olivia and Abigail, and then came my sweet Greyson. Oh my has time gone by, and I have got quite accustomed to my role as a Mother. 5 years later, with four kids, I'll be celebrating this Mother's Day on my own, as a single Mother and I'm ready to celebrate! It's important to me as a mother to feel appreciated not only by those whom I love and serve, but self appreciation as well. It's been a long journey, one that I didn't take lightly. Making the decision to part ways with my childrens father was not an easy one, but for my happiness, and the happiness of my children, it was vital. It's been hard. Being a single mother is so incredibly hard, but I am pretty damn proud that no matter how hard it is, I am doing it–and all on my own. So this year, I will bask in all the glory that Mother's Day brings. I will wear my motherhood badge proud, and buy my own flowers and presents because I DESERVE it, and although it's nice, I don't need anyone to show me it. Mamas, self appreciation is so important, so make sure you love and appreciate yourself just as much as your loved ones do this Mother's Day!
xx, Tiffany
