Halloween Season DIY: How to Make Faux Whipped Cream Mug Toppers

Looking for an adorable way to show off your halloween cups? Look no further! These DIY faux whipped cream mug toppers are the perfect solution. Not only are they easy to make, but they also add a touch of spooky fun to any Rae Dunn mug! Let's get started!

Here's a list of supplies you'll need:

-Your favorite Mug

-2-3" White Foam Balls Half Round Hemispherical (depends on size of your mug)

-Scissors

-Hot glue gun + glue sticks

-Cardboard

-Fast'N'Final Lightweight Spackling (I bought and used all 32oz for 3 mug toppers)

-Reuseable Piping Bag and tips

-Halloween Paper Straws

-Glitter

-Faux Polymer Clay Sprinkles

-Dye

1. First things first, you'll need to gather your supplies.
2. Once you have everything you need, take your mug place is upside down and trace the circle on the cardboard.
3. Next, use your hot glue gun to attach the foam to the center of the cardboard piece. Let dry.
4. Cut out the circle with the foam glued on.
5. Assemble and prepare your piping bag with the decorating tip that you want. Keep in mind the design you choose will result in how the faux whipped cream will look.
6. If you want to make your faux whipped cream a certain color, fill your cup with Fast'N'Final Lightweight Spackling and add a couple of drops of dye. Mix with a spoon until you get the color you want.
7. Fill your piping bag with the Spackling and pipe onto the center of the foam, circling around the cardboard until you get the desired height and shape of the faux whipped cream.
8. Now you can decorate your "faux whipped cream" however you want! I went with a themed design for our halloween scented candle wax melts using glitter, dye, and some polymer clay faux sprinkles that matched our Hocus Pocus, Boo & Trick or Treat themes. If you have bigger cabochons, wait until the spackle drys and hardens a bit then use your hot glue gun and glue the bigger cabochons (like the black cats, ghost and trick or treat bags) where you want!
9. Finally, take your paper straw, cut it in half or the correct size you want and place it wherever you like.
10. Allow it to fully cure & dry at least 24 hours before you place it on your mug or use it as your halloween decorations!
