Autumn Equinox: how to Embrace divine feminine season with intention

Happy Autumn Equinox, beloved. As we step into this sacred season, nature invites us to mirror her wisdom by slowing down in all aspects of our lives. The trees begin to shed their leaves, and the flowers retreat, turning inward as a reminder that there is power in rest and reflection.

As a single mother and conscious entrepreneur, I know firsthand how slowing down can seem like an impossible task, especially with my little ones birthdays, holidays, and all the demands that come with this time of year. It’s easy to get caught up in the rush, pushing ourselves to keep going, even when our souls are crying out for rest. But as I’ve continued to expand on my healing journey and become spiritually sovereign, I’ve witnessed firsthand how much my life-force vitality has strengthened when I honor my boundaries — when my no’s are truly no, and my yes’s are fully aligned with my sacred heart.

We are not meant to be in a constant state of productivity. Have you ever seen a tree that blooms perpetually without pause? Or a flower that continues to grow without retreating into stillness? Just like the natural world, we are divinely designed to ebb and flow with the seasons. God, in all its wisdom and divinity, did not create us to do, do, do all year round. Instead, God provided us with seasons to move with intention — to know when it’s time to take inspired action and express our essence, and when it’s time to slow down, reflect, and replenish from within.

Embracing the Divine Feminine This Season

We are also entering the season of the divine feminine, a time when we are called to embrace our receptive, intuitive, and nurturing energy. The divine feminine is all about flow, creation, and honoring cycles — the natural rhythms of life. As we move into autumn, we can consciously tune into these rhythms by embracing practices and mindsets that cultivate this powerful, inward energy.

The autumn months reflect the deep feminine power — the ability to release, surrender, and create space for renewal. It’s a time to shed layers, just like the trees release their leaves. We are invited to let go of old beliefs, patterns, and any energetic weights that no longer serve our highest good. This process of release is essential for our growth, as it creates space for new ideas, intentions, and manifestations to take root in the future.

Practical Ways to Embrace the Divine Feminine this Autumn Equinox

  1. Create Sacred Space
Carve out intentional time for stillness and reflection. Create a sacred space in your home, whether it’s an altar, a cozy corner, or a space in nature where you can tune in. Surround yourself with items that evoke the energy of the season — autumn leaves, candles, crystals, or comforting scents like cinnamon and cedar. Use this space to meditate, journal, or simply rest.

  2. Honor the Cycle of Release
Just as trees shed their leaves, let this season be a time of conscious release. Reflect on what you’ve been holding onto that no longer aligns with your soul's journey. Whether it's limiting beliefs, emotional baggage, or over-commitments, now is the time to let them go. Write them down and, as a symbolic act of release, burn the paper, or bury it in the earth as an offering.

  3. Nurture the Inner Self
The divine feminine calls us inward, asking us to prioritize self-care and replenishment. As the days grow shorter and darker, allow yourself to slow down. Take long baths infused with herbs, drink nourishing teas, and practice restorative activities like gentle yoga or breathwork. Give yourself permission to rest deeply without guilt.

  4. Tap into Intuition and Creativity
The divine feminine is the source of deep intuition and creative power. Use this season to reconnect with your inner wisdom. Pay attention to your dreams, meditate on your desires, and engage in creative activities that allow your soul to express itself — whether that’s through writing, art, dance, or simply daydreaming.

  5. Rituals of Gratitude and Abundance
Autumn is traditionally a season of harvest. As you reflect on the blessings and abundance you’ve received this year, create a ritual of gratitude. Light a candle and write down everything you’re thankful for. This practice aligns you with the divine feminine's nurturing energy, reminding you that even in times of release, there is always abundance and support surrounding you.

  6. Connect with the Moon Cycles
The divine feminine is deeply connected to the moon, and the lunar cycles mirror the cycles of creation, growth, release, and rest. During this season, take time to track the moon phases and align your personal intentions with them. The waning moon, in particular, is a powerful time for release, while the new moon invites us to plant the seeds of new beginnings.

  7. Embody Receptivity and Trust
The divine feminine teaches us to soften and allow. This can feel uncomfortable in a world that celebrates constant doing, but the key to replenishment and renewal lies in trusting the process of life. Practice receptivity — whether that means receiving love, support, or guidance from your higher self. Trust that by slowing down and tuning into your inner wisdom, everything you need will come to you in divine timing.

A Sacred Invitation

This Autumn Equinox is an invitation to embrace the balance between action and rest, between doing and being. As the earth begins her inward journey, we too are called to honor our divine feminine essence — to move with the rhythm of nature, to trust the wisdom in rest, and to give ourselves permission to slow down.

For me, this season is about deepening into intentional rest and allowing my body, mind, and spirit the space to renew so that I can show up fully in the moments that matter most. How can you give yourself permission to do the same?

As we enter this sacred time of transition, what are you ready to release? How can you honor your own inner autumn and nourish yourself as the energy shifts?
